Experimental Aircraft Design
Before Cirrus Design created the FAA certified SR20 and SR22, they designed and manufactured the VK-30 experimental kit airplane.
RA Mills Corporation originally supplied Cirrus with the landing gear and various other components when the kit was introduced
in 1989. In 1993, Cirrus Design stopped manufacturing the VK-30. Soon after the kit was discontinued,
the owner of RA Mills Corporation established the Cirrus Builders Association.
The Cirrus Builders Association was created to aid VK-30 owners with the construction of their airplane.
At the request of several Cirrus Builders Association members, RA Mills Corporation began developing CNC parts
and systems for the VK-30.
