New ergonomically designed seats were made for the VK-30. The seats feature a fully adjustable reclining back. Under the frame sits two gas struts to allow adjustment of the reclining back. |
The seats roll on custom-designed delrin wheels which ride on hard-anodized aluminum rails. Holes were drilled into the rails for a locking pin. The pilot pulls on the handle to adjust the seating position. |
Molds were made for the seat bottom and back. This photo shows the part being vacuum-bagged in the mold.
The seat foam and upholstery will get attached to these pieces. |
